I mean look at this picture, how can you not want to eat everything you see and not have the desire to eat healthy?
I’ve been living in Eastern Europe for a little over two years now and I’ve found myself fallen in love each and everyday with the bazaar (farmer’s market). It has because my place of solitude, peace, and bliss.
“my health should be a priority not a secondary choice”
When I started to substitute unhealthy food habits to healthy food habits in my daily regime, I instantly noticed the difference in my energy. I was happier, had energy to finish work or run my errands. For instant, If I had a Burek, a baked filled pastry made of thin flaky dough also known as phyllo. It is found in the Balkans, Macedonia and the surrounded countries, after that Burek (meat or cheese), I immediately found myself drained out of energy and sluggish. I continued to note how my body responded to food as my journey continued.
As time has passed, little by little, I have come to realize my health comes first. With everything that was happening to my body, mind, and spirit, it was time for a change. The moment I decided to no longer eat junk, unhealthy food, unnatural food, an instant liberation poured over my soul and delivered me from what could have been a lifetime of suffering and chronic illness.
“why not start eating healthy now, let’s do it today”
I started to host lunch for my colleagues at my house. I would be awfully nervous because I never know what I’m making until it’s done and on the table.
Our talks were always on healthy lifestyle and healthy living, or ways to improve our daily routine. I’ve chatted with friends and family back home in the State and their stories sometimes become redundant “I’ll start eating healthy tomorrow, next week, next Monday, or whenever” and my reply as always “why not start eating healthy now, let’s do it today” and so Let’s Eat Healthy Now was born.
